This year, SSTL’s Tyche Project Team were proud finalists in the ‘Space Achievement – Industry/Project Team’ category, recognised for their pioneering work on Tyche, an innovative small satellite mission launched in August 2024 for UK Space Command. Tyche represents the first ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) asset for UK Space Command, marking an important step forward in national space capability.
SSTL has a long and valued history with the Sir Arthur Clarke Awards, both as recipients and supporters over the years, and it was a pleasure once again to be part of an inspiring evening among friends and colleagues from across the UK space community.
A full table of deserving SSTL personnel attended the Gala Dinner - who played key roles in the design, manufacture, and launch of the Tyche satellite - and the evening was a fitting celebration of the teamwork, innovation, and dedication that underpin SSTL’s continuing contribution to the UK’s sovereign space capability.
