A highlight of the week was getting together with our AquaWatch-AUK partners to celebrate the announcement of additional funding support from the UK Space Agency’s International Bilateral Fund, revealed during the IAC. This support marks an important milestone in strengthening the collaboration between UK and Australian teams on Earth observation for water quality monitoring.
As part of the academic programme, SSTL was proud to contribute several papers to the Congress. Our colleague Stephanie Mottershead presented on AquaWatch, underlining the value of Earth observation satellites in addressing pressing environmental challenges.
In addition, Alex da Silva presented two papers: one on Water Resistojet Propulsion Systems for Small Satellites, and another on the role of Small Satellites for Lunar Optical and Thermal Imaging. These contributions highlight SSTL’s continued innovation across both Earth-focused and deep-space missions, and our commitment to advancing the capabilities of small satellite technology.
