HydroGNSS Satellites Ready for Launch at Vandenberg

HydroGNSS Satellites Ready for Launch at Vandenberg
Both SSTL-built HydroGNSS satellites are now fully integrated onto the launch plate that will attach to the SpaceX launch vehicle at Vandenberg Space Force Base, marking a major milestone for the mission.

The integration campaign was completed in October in the USA by our on-site SSTL launch team, who did an outstanding job ensuring both spacecraft were mechanically and electrically ready for flight. The smiles in the team photo say it all - a moment of pride and relief after months of detailed preparation and testing.

This final step completes the build phase of HydroGNSS, an ESA mission under the Scout Programme designed to demonstrate how small satellites can deliver valuable climate science data. From kick-off to launch readiness, the SSTL HydroGNSS team have worked tirelessly to design, build, test, and now integrate two spacecraft that will provide new and innovative measurements to help improve our understanding of Earth’s climate processes.

The team are now eagerly awaiting launch later this month - so stay tuned for updates as we approach lift-off from California.
