Gabrielle Marigold - Our Team Through Time
In 1985 - when SSTL was formed - Gabrielle Marigold was a school student in Bath with a passion for maths, science and art and later on, languages too. This diverse set of interests set the tone for a multidisciplinary academic journey, first earning a BSc in Physics with European Studies (French), followed by an MSc in Computer Science.

Gabrielle joined SSTL in 2016 as part of the Flight Software Team, contributing to the Quantum mission. From there, she moved into simulator software development, playing a key role in projects such as THEOS-2 and HydroGNSS. During HydroGNSS, Gabrielle also coordinated the work of international science partners contributing to the simulator and discovered how much she enjoyed project coordination.

That realisation led to her current role as Project Manager, where she works across non-mission projects, bringing technical and stakeholder strands together with the same precision she once applied to writing software.

Gabrielle says, “I love working with talented people across so many disciplines – it’s like solving a complex puzzle where everyone brings a vital piece.”

From physics to programming, from simulators to stakeholder coordination — Gabrielle’s path shows just how many ways there are to build a career in space.
