Celebrating Women in STEM on Ada Lovelace Day

Celebrating Women in STEM on Ada Lovelace Day
SSTL was proud to take part in this year’s Ada Lovelace Day celebrations, held at the beautiful De Vere Horsley Estate where our Head of Satellite, Assembly Integration & Test (AIT), Louise Dickie, joined an inspiring panel discussion exploring the experiences of women in STEM and sharing her personal journey into the world of space engineering. Louise’s thoughtful reflections and advice for future generations of engineers made for a powerful and memorable session.

Louise was joined at the event by fellow SSTL colleagues Ashvi IlotGabrielle MarigoldJessica PageEmma Turnbull and Susan Jason, (see pic below), who were delighted to represent the company at this special event celebrating the legacy of Ada Lovelace and the vital contribution of women to science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

The day also included a lively networking session, a fantastic lunch, and a guided tour of the historic Horsley Towers — creating the perfect setting for meaningful conversations and new connections.

SSTL is proud to support initiatives that inspire and empower women in STEM, both within our company and across the wider industry.

Thanks and kudos to De Vere Horsley Estate for hosting a fantastic event.. and credit to Anna Rainbow Photography for the pics.
