NAVIGATION

NAVIGATION

SSTL developed and delivered the first operational payload for Europe's satellite-supported navigation programme as part of its GIOVE-A mission launched in 2005.

Since then SSTL has supplied 22 navigation payloads for the deployment phase of Europe's satellite-supported navigation  system, Galileo, and is now manufacturing a further 12 payloads that will form the heart of the navigation system. SSTL’s payload solution is based on European sourced atomic clocks, signal generators, high power TWTAs and Antennas.

Our GNSS receivers are highly regarded for quality and robustness and are flying on many missions, including TechDemoSat-1 and NASA's CYGNSS constellation.

INTERPLANETARY

INTERPLANETARY

Humanity will be a multiplanetary species; join us on the journey to explore two neighbouring planetary bodies, and many that are far out in Deep Space. We pioneered the commercial small satellite industry and established a market in low earth orbit; now we’re going to do the same at the moon, at Mars – and beyond.

We have a vision of democratizing and enabling the growth of commercial and scientific exploration activities by reducing mission entry costs. We are developing the infrastructure that will enable international organizations to achieve their exploration ambitions: transportation, communication, navigation; mission tasking, data capture and data return.

We can offer opportunities to explore the moon, Mars and brand-new worlds to suit a diversity of budgets and programme objectives for space-faring teams, organisations and Agencies.  We welcome opportunities for collaboration, co-development and cooperation, to leverage international capabilities and expertise to develop cost-effective, high-value missions, services and applications.
