Conferences & Exhibitions - SSTL at IAC 2011, Cape Town

Salt Lake City Airport, 2.5m image from NigeriaSat-2SSTL is sponsoring the 62nd International Astronautical Congress (IAC) 2011 in Cape Town 3rd to 7th October and we will be at Stand 66.

The IAC is organised by the International Aeronautical Federation to provide an opportunity for representatives from political, industrial and scientific sectors, together with members of the general public to shape the future direction of space exploration. Visitors to SSTL’s stand will be able to see a selection of impressive high resolution images from NigeriaSat-2, following the successful launch for NASRDA in August. The first SSTL-300 satellite in orbit, NigeriaSat-2 provides a 2.5m panchromatic images as well as 5m multispectral images across a 20km swath width at a cost-value ration never before thought possible.  Combined with flexible multi-mode operation (spot, strip, area and stereo modes), agile 45 degree roll/pitch off-pointing, and fast downlinks the spacecraft will supply NASRDA with very detailed images for urban mapping, monitoring resources and predicting crop yields.

In addition, we will be launching two completely new products at the show - the NovaSAR-2 and the SSTL-50 platform, details available during the week of the show.

Professor Sir Martin Sweeting, SSTL's Executive Chairman, will be delivering a keynote speech on the evolution of small satellites over the last 30 years.
