As well as providing turnkey satellite missions, SSTL provide capability for customers to develop their own space business through a range of training programmes. SSTL’s unique commercial expertise aligned with close links to the University of Surrey, affords the opportunity for the training of customer engineers, providing an understanding of satellite engineering and the ability to monitor and maintain their own space assets.

Drawing on our unique combination of commercial and academic expertise, we work with our customers to define a programme of education and training that will give their team the knowledge it needs.

Already provided to 11 countries, SSTL’s know-how transfer programmes can include:

• Satellite
• Ground station furnished with all equipment on customers’ premises 
• Outfitting clean rooms and laboratories on customers’ premises 
• Hands-on industrial training at our headquarters for a cadre of engineers 
• Documented know-how relating to the satellite and ground station
• Technology license
• Academic degrees from the University of Surrey for engineers
