SSTL’s NigeriaSat-2 and NigeriaSat-X satellites were successfully launched today at 07:12:20 UTC onboard a Dnepr rocket from Yasny in southern Russia.

With all seven satellites integrated and the space head module fully assembled, the assembly was rolled out to the rocket silo today.

With the fairing in place, the upper deck launch vehicle has been attached to the lower platform and is now ready for flight. The NigeriaSat-2 and NigeriaSat-X launch team will now check-out the pyro and battery charge circuits with the space head module and conduct final battery charging.

Yesterday the primary payload of this cluster launch, a Ukrainian national mission called SICH-2, plus the Turkish RASAT satellite, were integrated with the launch vehicle.
